1. What will happen during my consultation?
You will meet with Dr. Kerluke and his nurse for ½ hour. They will assess your medical history and area of concern and discuss a treatment plan for you. A quote for surgery will be given at this time.
2. How long will I wait from the consultation until I can have my surgery?
Waiting time is about four to six weeks

4. What will surgery cost?
Depending on the length of time your surgery will take and the type of surgery you are having a quote will be prepared before you leave from your consultation.
5. Where will I have surgery?
Surgery is done at Valley Surgery Centre, a fully accredited private surgical facility by the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons: 3rd Floor, 14439 104th Avenue, Surrey, BC.
6. Do I need to have someone stay with me?
It is recommended to have someone stay with you for the first 24 hours after surgery.
7. How long will I be off work?
It depends what kind of surgery you are having. Most surgeries require about two weeks away from work.
8. What about anesthesia?
Most surgeries are done under general anaesthetic under the supervision of an anaesthetist. Some surgeries can be done with just local anaesthetic. This will be discussed in your consultation.
9. How much will it hurt?
We will discuss the type of discomfort that is usually felt with each particular surgery. You will be provided with prescriptions for pain medication to keep you comfortable.
10. Will there be any scars?
Whenever an incision is made in the skin there will be a scar. Dr. Kerluke will do his best to hide and camouflage scars in the natural contours of the body.
11. Are there any risks?
Whenever you have any surgery there is always risk involved. During your preoperative visit we provide you with a written consent form that will go over all the risk factors associated with that particular surgery. You will also talk with Dr. Kerluke and the nurse about your concerns.
12. At which hospital do you have hospital privileges?
Lions Gate Hospital (active staff) and Surrey Memorial Hospital (consulting staff).
13. May I see before-and-after photos of patients who have had this surgery?
Yes, we have many before-and-after photos related to all surgeries that Dr. Kerluke performs.
