A facelift is performed to create smoother, more pleasing contours to your face and neck and is intended to give a refreshed appearance. An assessment is needed on the thickness, texture and elasticity of your skin and the severity of the wrinkles and folds. An incision is hidden in the contour of your ear then extends around the earlobe and back into the hairline. Skin is pulled up and back and excess skin is removed. In some instances, deeper tissue may be repositioned.
For early signs of aging: nasolabial folds plus sagging of the brow, and cheek fat pads, a mid facelift may be performed with no visible scars. Following surgery, incisions can be easily concealed by your hair or with makeup and most can return to normal activity within two weeks.
